TIME OR SPACE SCENE 1

1. INT. SMALL KITCHEN-LATE MORNING

Diegetic, western style, tinny guitar music plays.

CAMERA TRACKS INTO

2. INT. SMALL LIVING ROOM

Music gets louder as the camera gets closer to a small radio on a sideboard.

CAMERA TRACKS

3. EXT. PATIO

Music gets quieter again, but still audible, and the camera comes up behind JON rocking in his rocking chair.

JON
SMUDGE! Here boy!

A dog comes in from outside the shot with a small object in his mouth.

CUT

Close up of smudge. SMUDGE drops the object and barks.

CUT

Mid shot of JON as he picks up the object. He inspects the underside and sighs.

JON
Good boy SMUDGE.

4. EXT. DESERT

Slow, non-diegetic beeping noise begins and JON quickly scoops up SMUDGE and runs towards a vehicle similar to a dune buggy.

Far shot of the house exploding and JON and SMUDGE driving towards the camera in the buggy.

CUT

Over the shoulder shot of JON looking at the burning remains of the house. He turns around to face the camera and crouches down to pet SMUDGE.
